The Port of Altamira participated successfully in the Expo Proveedor Industrial Matamoros 2010 on February 24th and 25th, that took place in the Convention Center “Mundo Nuevo” in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. This event had over 100 stands and 300 people in attendance, and the Port of Altamira was one of the main participants. The main objective of this fair is to gather a vast sample of raw material suppliers and service companies for the Maquila Industry of the Zone, so they can make contacts.
The Port Director, Mr. Alejandro Gochicoa Matienzo, attended this event, together with Mr. Eugenio Hernandez Flores, Governor of Tamaulipas, who made a presentation where he acknowledged the Port for its investment projects and important activities that have been helping the economy in the State.
These actions are part of the promotion program of the Port that includes spreading out the competitive advantages Altamira has to offer, and allows the Maquila Industry and all companies in the north border of the Country, several choices for their international commerce operations.
