Automobiles from General Motors were shipped today at the Port of Altamira through the B/M Rio Nevado from CSV, with destination in Chile and Peru. This shipping re-starts automobile exports through the AMPORTS terminal, located in Altamira’s Industrial Port Complex.
AMPORTS, with over 50 years of experience in the automobile sector, is a company that has 12 terminals distributed in the United States and Mexico, specialized in vehicle handling in port terminals, for imports and exports.
This first lot of vehicles, arrived in railroad to the intermodal zone in the Port of Altamira, and was later moved to the terminal yards, operation that has helped General Motors to improve efficiency and save money.
It is also expected in the month of July, to have several more export operations to different destinations, such as Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, among others.
Coordinated promotion efforts from the Port Administration and AMPORTS, are showing successful results. These activities will continue in order to promote the Port of Altamira’s competitive advantages for this type of cargo, such as wide space, strategic location, air quality and modern infrastructure, which will allow more employment generation and the restitution of this Port as leader in vehicle handling.
