Arrival of specialized equipment for cargo handling

The multi-purpose terminal Altamira Terminal Portuaria (ATP), part of Grupo Mexgal, received last June 24th two modern Super Post Panamax dock cranes, by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Co., Ltd.

Shipped in the Zhen Hua 21 vessel, from Shanghai, China, this new equipment sums up to the one already working in ATP, to make a total of 5 cranes for the handling of containers and heavy loads inside their 600 meter dock.

These cranes are named Super Post Panamax because of their size, their capacity for 78 tons, a maximum range of 50 meters and a maximum height for operations of 42 meters. These technical characteristics allow them to attend third generation Post Panamax vessels in the most efficient way.

It is important to mention that Altamira Terminal Portuaria is one of the maritime terminals installed in the Port of Altamira since 1995. Its services as a specialized terminal such as reception/delivery of containerized cargo and/or breakbulk, stripping and stuffing, monitoring of refrigerated containers and inventory control, among others, make it an essential company in the Port’s development.

Acquiring this modern port crane, alongside the rest of investment projects in specialized equipment, is one more advantage that keeps Altamira’s Industrial Complex as leader in first-class infrastructure, refining its port services and allowing more benefits for its clients.
